Mettrick's brought home a coveted Gold award from the British Pie Championships last month.
Held in Melton Mowbray, the home of the pork pie, the competition saw the UK's top pie finalists submitted into 18 categories.
The pies underwent a stringent judging process by 93 food experts and celebrity chefs,which included top food critic Charles Campion and food writer Xanthe Clay, TV chefs Rachel Green and Phil Vickery. The judges scored the pies on a number of attributes, including appearance, texture and taste of both pastry and filling.

Mettricks were regional finalists in the legendary sausage competition with North West Champion Sausage; the pork with lemon marmalade & cracked black pepper.

John Mettrick has been awarded the title "Master Butcher", one of only ten accolades in the UK.
The title recognises John's commitment to mastering the art of butchery to an exceptional standard.
When giving the award, particular Mention was given to Johns commitment & understanding of the Supply chain, and his close relationship with all elements of the supply process from farm to customer.
