All of our chickens are barn reared and have access to the outdoors whenever they choose.
Our bran reared whole chicken is delicious to roast for a family meal or to use economically over a few days making a variety of dishes, for example chicken soup, chicken pie and a chicken curry.
The carcass can then be used to make a delicious organic chicken stock, which can be frozen ahead of time for those future meals.
For a whole bird, allow at least 450g or 1lb per person.
Heat oven to 180ºC/350 F/Gas 4 and we recommend you cook for 1.5 hours minimum for a 3lb/1.3kg bird. Ensure centre is piping hot and juices run clear before serving. Allow fifteen minutes to rest before carving.
